David Pesiri and his team are focused on two primary themes, what does innovation mean in the context of national security, and how can this topic be used to ensure the long-term success of Los Alamos? This subject takes the practical forms of forming strategic partnerships, positioning spinoffs for mutual benefit, leveraging intellectual to protect US government interests, and developing programs that stimulate innovation. Prior to 2005, David was active in the private sector including roles as the co-founder and president of SDC Materials, a materials discovery company, Managing Partner of the Essex Technology Group, and senior scientist at Technanogy, LLC. David holds a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a B.A. from Pomona College in Claremont, California.
